"Sobriety doesn't mean that life is perfect. But it does mean that you're better equipped to handle whatever comes your way."

– Kat Von D

FROM THE DESK OF THE FOUNDER

Happy Friday, Sober Sippers!

Halloween is eight days out, so consider this your planning memo. We have 24 ways to do spooky season without a witches' brew of booze, a Lisa Gardner thriller starring a recovering alcoholic who finds missing people, and "Body Brokers," the rehab-scam movie that is scarier than anything in a mask because it's based on true events. We also revisit why "The Lincoln Lawyer" season 3 left us wanting more recovery, and the NA beer our reviewer bought exactly one can of.

Now let’s get to it…

HAPPY EVERY HOUR

Visitor NA Beer Is An Unwanted Guest

We are meeting someone new today; a visitor, if you will. Visitor is from Potosi, Wisconsin, and brings with it high expectations, as we have been blown away a lot in the past by NA brews out of Wisconsin. We enter into this week with high hopes and a bit of confusion.

This week we are drinking Visitor beer. Is it a lager? Is it an IPA? Nobody knows.

THE MINDFUL BINGE

“Lincoln Lawyer” Season 3 Review: A Recovery Disappointment

One of the refreshing elements of the previous seasons was the inclusion of sobriety in Mickey's storyline. His character, who is in recovery, offers a nuanced portrayal of life beyond addiction. While not the main focus, it was a welcome layer that added authenticity and depth to his character.
