Flashback Friday: Chaos, Cameos & Clean Living — The Bear, Amy Dresner, and Your Sober Weekend Rewind
PUBLISHER’S NOTE
It’s Friday! Welcome to your weekend rewind! In this Flashback Friday edition of The Sober Sip, we’re revisiting the moments that made us laugh, reflect, and feel a little more seen in our sobriety journey.
This week, Season 2 of The Bear proves that chaos in the kitchen isn’t the only thing heating up—addiction, Al-Anon, and messy family dynamics take center stage with depth and heart (and a killer soundtrack). Meanwhile in #QUITLIT, Amy Dresner’s brutally honest memoir My Fair Junkie pulls no punches as she chronicles her wild ride from privilege to powerlessness—and back to purpose.
We’re also popping corks (without the booze) thanks to Jøyus Wines, planning a sober escape to Antigua, and rounding it all out with 15 of the best sober blogs to keep your inspiration flowing.
Ready to flash back and power forward? Let’s dive in.

ENTERTAINMENT
Season 2 of Stigma Smashing Hit “The Bear” Continues to Focus on Al-Anon and Delivers the Fun in Dysfunction with Stellar Cameo Performances and a Killer Soundtrack
The Bear is finally open for business and gets 5 stars all around. I did not think it was possible, but I love Season 2 even more than season 1. While Carmy is still the main character, Season 2 spreads the love and fills us in on more of the backstories of the family. We also start to see how the Berzattos absolutely qualify for Al-Anon. By portraying real life issues on the small screen, The Bear helps smash the stigma surrounding addiction, mental illness and getting help. This honest, chaotic ride is packed with major recovery themes, volatile family dynamics and cliffhangers just begging for Season 3.

My Fair Junkie By Amy Dresner, A Memoir Of Getting Dirty And Staying Clean
Growing up in Beverly Hills, Amy Dresner had a top-notch private school education, the most expensive summer camps, and even a weekly clothing allowance. But at 24, she started dabbling in meth in San Francisco and unleashed a fiendish addiction monster. Soon, if you could snort it, smoke it, or have sex with it, she did.
