Flashback Friday: Your Weekly Rewind
PUBLISHER’S NOTE
It’s Friday! And this week, we’re leaning into the power of friendship, healing, and saying “no thanks” with confidence. First up, we head to “Firefly Lane”, where the Pacific Northwest skyline serves as the backdrop to a decades-long friendship full of love, loss, and the quiet persistence of recovery. Then, we take a sharp and stick-figure-illustrated turn into the hilariously raw memoir “Sober Stick Figure” by Amber Tozer, a must-read for anyone who’s found humor on the other side of hardship.
Feeling wanderlust? We’ve got you covered with the upcoming Australia AF Wine Tour—a luxe, sober travel experience blending sensory exploration with down-under bucket list magic. And to wrap things up, we’ve stocked your social arsenal with witty (and graceful) comebacks for those inevitable "why aren’t you drinking?" questions.
However you’re spending your weekend, we hope it’s full of connection, laughter, and a reminder that sober doesn’t mean boring—it means intentional.

Firefly Lane Includes Life In Seattle Media & Friendships, Along With Underlying Issues Of Mental Illness, Addiction, And Sexual Abuse
Firefly Lane, starring Katherine Heigl, is a different kind of love story that focuses on the bonds between women. It chronicles the ups and downs of friendships stretched over multiple decades. This 10-episode series on Netflix gives soft and subtle nods to the long-term impact of underlying issues of mental illness, addiction, and sexual abuse. Based on the best-seller by Bainbridge Island author Kristin Hannah, Firefly Lane is set in Snohomish and Seattle (Washington State) and was shot in Vancouver, B.C. (Because most films “based in Seattle” are filmed up in our neighboring country to the north for cost-saving reasons)

Witty Comebacks When Someone Asks Why You’re Not Drinking
It’s important to remember that you don’t need to justify or explain your choices to others, you can simply say something like: “I prefer not to drink tonight” or ” I am good thank you” and move on with the conversation.

See You Monday!
