THE MINDFUL BINGE

“MAID” – The Story Of One Woman’s Incredible Story Of Resilience And Perseverance

“MAID” is a 10-episode Netflix series you are going to want to binge…mindfully. This series stars screen legend Andie MacDowell and her daughter Margaret Qualley as the on-screen mother and daughter, Paula and Alex. The breathtaking backdrop of this story is set in the beautiful, ferry-filled Pacific Northwest. Those of you from this upper left corner of the country may also recognize Seattle native Nick Robinson, who plays Sean, the abusive boyfriend of Alex (Qualley).

ADDICTION FICTION

Review of “Broken People” by Sam Lansky

Sam Lansky’s “Broken People” explores a young man’s search for healing from self-induced anxieties driven by a constant, judging inner dialogue. This semi-autobiographical novel shines a light on human vulnerability — an honest and often humorous look at self-discovery’s messy, complicated process. Doing the math, the real-life Sam would have been around seven years sober when this book was published.

HAPPY EVERY HOUR - NA BEERS & 90s

Go Brewing – Sunshine State Tropical IPA is Light and Crisp

Well, there are not too many Florida references I enjoy, but this week, a brewery from outside Chicago takes us there, and I am here for it. However, before we get to the beer, let’s talk about the brewery. Go Brewing from Naperville, IL, came up out of nowhere and was all of a sudden the primary subject of friends and colleagues sending me pictures with the text “Have you tried this yet?” First, the answer was yes, but second, the question to the question was, “Which one?” As a relatively new brewery in the NA space, Go Brewing is coming out of the gate with a list of hits, and it’s freaking crazy!
