NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER’S DESK
Welcome back to The Sober Sip, your monthly drop of sober events and retreats that prove we did NOT sign up for beige living.
This month's lineup is chaotic in the best way. We've got breathwork with Adriane Vy. A Conspiracy PowerPoint Party (yes, you read that correctly). Sean Daniels live BACKSTAGE. A 20-year anniversary celebration with our Steps to Recovery Comedy Social friends. And Cara Benson presenting An Armsfull of Birds with Amy Shearn for the bookish among us.
Want to actually leave the house? Run a mountain at Leavenworth Trail Fest. Roll deep at PRIDE PROM. Float down a Florida river with the Sober Sisters. Hit yoga + meditation at Kripalu. Or do a Sip + Smoke Garden situation with modern mocktails + herbal craft.
And my personal "I'm not okay, I'm great" pick? Get on a plane to South Thailand for ten days, June 28 through July 7. Sober travel hits different when the passport stamps are this good.
Translation: there is zero excuse to spend this month doom-scrolling from the couch.
Now let’s get the party started…

Recovery Takes Center Stage: A BACKSTAGE Conversation with Sean Daniels
Recovery takes center stage in this special Backstage with The Sober Curator conversation with Sean Daniels, playwright of The White Chip.
Sean is an internationally known theater director, writer, artistic director, and recovery advocate whose work uses the arts to challenge stigma around addiction and sobriety. His play The White Chip is based on his own recovery experience and has been recognized as a New York Times Critics’ Pick.
Join us for a candid conversation about recovery in live theater, how addiction and sobriety are portrayed on stage, and why the arts community has such a powerful role in changing the narrative.

A Sip + Smoke Garden Experience: Modern Mocktails + Herbal Craft
Step into an unhurried evening in the garden for A Sip + Smoke Garden Experience — a sensory, plant‑forward gathering created in collaboration between Beyond Bottleshop and The Pollen Patch Garden.
We’ll begin with Soul Hum botanical beverages, crafted with herbs that echo the same allies you’ll later use in your prerolls. As you sip, you’re invited to wander the garden, breathe in fresh aromatics, and let the space set the tone. These quiet sensory moments create a natural bridge between the beverages, the smoke blends, and the living landscape around you.

BACKSTAGE with The Sober Curator: Edutainment Night | Conspiracy PowerPoint Party
We are giving the floor to the people. And the people have theories.
On June 3, BACKSTAGE hosts its first ever Conspiracy PowerPoint Party. Up to ten members will each take the stage for 10 minutes to present their favorite conspiracy via PowerPoint. The audience will watch, react, and decide what they believe. No peer review required.
Are the birds real? Is Stonehenge a hoax? Did Big Sparkling Water manipulate the seltzer market? We genuinely do not know what is coming and that is exactly the point.
