FROM THE DESK OF THE FOUNDER
Happy Monday, Sober Sippers!
Here's a fun thought experiment: what if we treated our bank accounts the way we treat our sobriety? One day at a time. Progress, not perfection. No shame spirals over past behavior at 2am.
That's the premise of Financial Sobriety, a brand new column from brand new contributor Greg Downs. Because let's be honest, plenty of us traded the bar tab for a DoorDash habit and a suspiciously full Amazon cart. The tools that keep us away from the first drink can keep us from the first impulse buy too. I'm not saying I needed this column personally. I'm saying welcome, Greg, your timing is impeccable.
Also this week: Lane Kennedy digs into what Americans are actually buying now that we're drinking less (better sleep, better trips, better everything), and we're calling time on the search for the perfect fake beer. Stop chasing the imitation. Start choosing the drink that does the job.
Pour something good and dig in.

Financial Sobriety: A New Column About Taking Money One Day at a Time, Too
What if the same recovery tools that help us avoid the first drink could also help us stop making emotional financial decisions? New Sober Curator contributor Greg Downs introduces financial sobriety: an honest, present and shame-free approach to money that focuses on peace, not perfection.
HAPPY EVERY HOUR
Stop Searching for the Perfect Alcohol-Free Replacement
The best alcohol-free drink may not taste exactly like beer, wine or whiskey. Instead of searching for a perfect imitation, choose drinks based on what you actually want them to do — refresh you after work, complement a meal, create a pre-dinner ritual or give you something satisfying to sip slowly.
SPEAK OUT! SPEAK LOUD!
What We Gain When We Give Up Booze
As Americans quietly drink less, the conversation often centers on what the alcohol industry stands to lose. Lane Kennedy asks a more revealing question: What are people choosing instead? From better sleep and Saturday morning hikes to meaningful travel, stronger relationships and improved health, our spending habits may reveal a broader cultural shift toward lives that feel better tomorrow.
